Message from Chief Steiner

Chief Steiner July2023Your Coon Rapids Police Department’s stated mission is to support a safe community while building trust through engagement, professionalism and compassion. This mission statement was developed by the members of the police department and reflects who we believe we are today and helps guide our efforts for the future.

When fully staffed, our entire team at the police department is about 110 strong and is comprised of sworn police officers, community service officers, police reserve officers, and a variety of vital non-sworn staff members. Over the course of several decades, a strong foundation of earned trust has been built between the Police Department and the citizens of Coon Rapids. Our desire to preserve and strengthen that foundation guides our daily activities and the focus of our efforts for the future.

Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our efforts to support a safe community.
