The Assessing Department will be mailing postcards this fall to properties where there was a building permit pulled this year or there was an incomplete project from last year. The postcard information is below. If you need this information translated into another language, use the "Enable Google Translate" button in the lower right corner of the screen. This tool will then translate the information on this webpage.
Assessing records indicate one or more of the following:
A recent building permit is associated with your property,
An incomplete or ongoing project is associated with your property,
A recent sales transaction is associated with your property.
Appraisers from the Assessing Department are required to review these projects every year and determine any impact they may have on your property value. Even though building inspectors may have already checked the progress or finalized the project, the appraiser should now review what was done. Allowing the appraiser to review the project, even if it is not complete, will result in a more accurate assessment of its impact rather than an estimation, which they will be required to do.
